New Yorkers have endured a chaotic morning after a crane collapsed in dramatic fashion, injuring people on the street below.
A fire erupted in the engine compartment forcing the crane operator who was in the cabin and working on lifting 16 tons of concrete to abandon his work, according to the NY Post.
New York City Mayor Eric Adams said it was a lucky situation that only minor injuries occurred to those involved. “We’re also fortunate that first responders responded in such a manner and made the right evaluation of how to look at the fire and crisis we were presented with and came up with .”
