Premier DanielAndrewsMP has revealed how Victoria will look once stage four restrictions end and the key steps before the state can re-open.
Mr Andrews said the framework surrounding stage three and stage two restrictions will be “substantially different”.“We’re not going to be able to necessarily give every single sector a hard and fast date at which they’ll be reopening,” he said.
“Those numbers would explode, we would finish up and perhaps an even worse situation than we have been in recent months. We cannot fritter away all that good work and sacrifice. “These case numbers are too high for us to open up, and they are still too high for us to put forward a definitive plan,” he said.
Mr Andrews has been pushing for a 12 month extension of the state of emergency powers to allow the government to keep the COVID-19 rules in place they deem necessary.
