Just over a year ago, Australian long jumper Brooke Buschkuehl needed cortisone injections just to train.
“I had a chondroplasty and had that cleaned up, and then I also had ITB release surgery as well because my ITB was really inflamed.” “It was gonna take a long time to build back and I knew that it wasn’t just going to be something that was going to happen overnight. It was going to take months of getting some consistent training under my belt.
“The lead-in to that jump, and even just the season, was certainly not ideal,” Buschkuehl told 7NEWS.com.au. “I feel like I’d only just started to sort of find my groove, and the knee pain just started reducing, and I was able to really just start incorporating some of the plyometrics that I hadn’t been able to do into my programme only a few weeks ago.Brooke Buschkuehl didn’t expect to recover so well from her injury.Buschkuehl’s previous PB dated all the way back to March of 2016, when she jumped 7.05.
