A woman has been charged after she allegedly stole food and drinks that had been donated to RFS volunteers battling the state's bushfire crisis

A woman has been charged after she allegedly stole food and drinks that had been donated to Rural Fire Service volunteers battling the state's bushfire crisis.

Police will allege the 37-year-old woman broke into a supermarket on Railway Terrace in Schofields about 3.40pm on Christmas Day and stole food and SIM cards, as well as a trolley containing food and drinks for the RFS.Nick Moir Officers from the Quakers Hill Police Area Command attempted to stop the woman as she drove away from the supermarket north along Railway Terrace. A 48-year-old man was a passenger in the car at the time, police say.

Police allege the woman did not stop and a police helicopter began tracking the vehicle, which soon crashed into a fence on St Albans Road in Schofields.The woman was charged with breaking, entering and stealing, and negligent driving.The man was charged with possessing a prescribed and restricted substance. He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Blacktown Local Court on February 3.
