A woman was killed when a eucalyptus branch fell on the back portion of a sedan as it drove through South Melbourne.
One woman died and two others were hurt after a large eucalyptus branch fell on their car as they drove along Kings Way in South Melbourne on Friday night.Police say four people were travelling in the sedan about 9pm along Kings Way, near the corner of Bank Street, when a eucalyptus tree branch fell on the back portion of the car.The branch crushed the back of the car, injuring two passengers, one of whom later died in hospital.
"It can very much be the result of heat stress; [trees] do perspire and sweat like most living things, and every living thing needs water," he said. July 14: Father and son killed after a large gum fell on their car travelling towards Sherbrooke during strong winds.
