A nine-year-old girl tragically lost her life after being pulled unconscious from a backyard swimming pool on a peaceful cul-de-sac in Sydney 's west. Emergency services responded swiftly to a call made from a residence on Rosaki Close in Edensor Park around 4:30 pm on Sunday. The distressing reports indicated that a child had been removed from the pool in an unresponsive state.
Paramedics immediately transported the critically injured girl to The Children's Hospital at Westmead, where she sadly succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. Multiple ambulance crews, including specialized intensive care paramedics and a medical team comprised of a doctor, were dispatched to the scene. They provided immediate medical attention to the young girl. NSW Police confirmed that officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command are diligently investigating the events leading up to this tragic incident.This devastating drowning underscores the serious dangers of water safety, particularly during Australia's current summer season which has witnessed a concerning surge in drowning incidents. As of December 1, 2024, over 80 individuals have tragically lost their lives to drowning, highlighting the urgent need for heightened awareness and vigilance around water safety
