The 2024 Met Gala is now underway at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
Aussie star Chris Hemsworth is one of the hosts at this year’s Met Gala - and he and wife Elsa Pataky are among the first to hit the red carpet.This year ’sofficial dress code is “The Garden of Time,” which celebrates the Costume Institute ’s latest exhibition, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”
Inspired by J.G. Ballard’s short story of the same title, The Garden of Time is one of the more open-ended themes we’ve seen from the Gala in recent years – expect a lot of wild and interesting interpretations. costs $75,000, with tables starting at $350,000. Last year’s Gala, which celebrated the late Karl Lagerfeld, raised a record sum of almost $22 million.And this year, there was a minor controversy before the Gala was even underway: A male model has claimed he was fired from working at this year’s event after “outshining” Kylie Jenner at last year’s ceremony.
