WA police have charged a Canberra man over an alleged sexual assault which occurred in Perth more than 30 years ago.

He made no application for bail and the duty lawyer requested that the case be adjourned for six weeks so Mr Dwyer could get legal advice and make an application for legal aid.The alleged assault occurred after a man forced entry to a college in Nedlands, in February, 1993. Detective Sergeant Troy Casey of the Special Crime Squad said police will allege he threatened the woman and then sexually assaulted her.He said Mr Dwyer was arrested in Canberra on Wednesday and extradited to Perth, with the assistance of Australian Federal Police ."He was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual penetration without consent, and burglary and commit," Detective Sergeant Casey said.
