In a statement at the time, she said she had been to hospital and tests had confirmed the presence of drugs in her system, which she had not taken herself. The former MP also alleged she was approached by other women who had experienced similar incidents during nights out in Yeppoon around the same time.The Queensland Parliamentary Service closed Ms Lauga's electorate office in the weeks following her police report about the matter, after her staff were allegedly harassed and threatened." are two hardworking and passionate women public servants, employed to provide support," Ms Lauga said at the time.
