Kay McGrath, a former Channel 7 newsreader, announced the tragic passing of her fiancé, Richard Moore, who died from a sudden heart attack in Agra, India. The couple had been travelling together and visited the Taj Mahal the day before his death.

Former Channel 7 presenter Kay McGrath has revealed her partner has died suddenly from a heart attack while the pair were travelling in India. The ex-Brisbane newsreader announced the shocking news on social media on Saturday. “I have some devastating news to share with you dear friends,” she wrote on Instagram. “My darling fiancée and soulmate Richard has passed away after suffering a sudden and totally unexpected heart attack in Agra, India. Local doctors did all they could to save him.

“Richard was so loved and valued by family and friends. He leaves a huge hole in our hearts. A kind, smart, generous, wickedly funny and genuinely good man - we all miss you so much darling.” McGrath and Moore had been engaged since 2016. Speaking to The Courier Mail that year, McGrath said she never expected to get married again. “I have found my soulmate – it is that old saying that love can land when you least expect it,” she said. McGrath is an award-winning former journalist.
