SA Police visited 111 venues at the weekend for compliance checks and found 10 without COVID-safe plans in place.
The plans are mandatory for businesses to resume trading after being forced to close doors during COVID-19 lockdowns.City nightclub Zhivago was slapped with a $5060 fine, with police releasing pictures showing patrons blatantly ignoring social distancing measures. A Waymouth Street hostel was also fined, with officers also identifying four people self-quarantining there after recently arriving from Victoria.
They were moved to alternate accommodation over concerns they couldn't safely quarantine from other residents, who were urged to get tested if they develop symptoms.
