New polling has found support for Labor and the Coalition is locked on a two party preferred basis, with the majority of voters now expecting Australia will have a minority government after the next election.Prime Minister Anthony Albanese 's reshuffle has failed to win over voters as a Newspoll finds the majority of Australians expect a hung Parliament, and minority government , after the next election.
The Coalition, meanwhile, has increased its primary lead to an equal post-election high of seven points, although the gap is not yet large enough to place the party in a winning electoral position. In troubling news for the government, just 22 per cent of voters believe Labor will perform well enough to retain majority government at the next election.
Both parties are locked at 50-50 on a two-party preferred basis, the third time this has happened since the last election, with 57 per cent of voters now expecting a minority government as the most likely outcome when Australia next heads to the ballot box.
