Victorian opposition leader John Pesutto will face a second defamation battle over comments he made following a Let Women Speak rally held in Melbourne last year.
John Pesutto is facing a second defamation battle over his response to a Let Women Speak rally held last year with the organiser of the rally declaring she hopes her lawsuit will be"career ending" for the Victorian Liberal leader.
“I think it should be career ending to say somebody is associated with Nazis. I think it should have really drastic consequences for him," “You can't say really quite despicable, disgusting lies about somebody in order to silence them, and intimidate them and get away with it,” she said. “I would like a full and frank apology in which he admits not only that he was incompetent in not finding out and fact checking that the things he was saying were lies, but also when he was told that they were lies, he doubled down and repeated them,” she said.
