The Queensland government has announced the development of a new $750 million hospital for cancer patients. 9News

Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the new hospital would be included in next week's state budget.The new cancer centre will be a new addition of the Royal Brisbane Women' Hospital.

It will have 150 beds — 91 new and 59 shifting from other hospitals — and the premier hopes it will alleviate pressure on other hospitals. While the latest Queensland Ambulance Service figures show wait times are decreasing in Brisbane's north, data shows wait times in the south of more than 20 hours.
