South Australia will ease restrictions on some public gatherings as the state marks its 12th day of zero new coronavirus cases.

From midnight tonight, 150 people will be allowed to attend weddings and funerals, while football crowds will be increased from 10,000 to 15,000 attendees. Patrons will also be able to eat and drink at a bar, however, the one person per two-square-metre will remain in place for venues.

"What we’ve said in SA from day one is that we will adjust our restrictions commensurate with the risk … and as that’s coming down we need to adjust our restrictions in SA as well," Premier Steven Marshall said. Although no changes to border closures were announced, the premier revealed he would consider lifting restrictions if the state saw consistently low or zero case numbers for 14 days.
