RMIT University professor Joe Siracusa says the world has a “box seat” to the “most historic event in the last five years… the end of a long, dishonest decade”.
Professor Siracusa told Sky News the primary aim for congress was to “delegitimise” President Trump for the 2020 election, and to taint his legacy with “a black stain”.
He compared the trial to “a Shakespearean play” where President Trump was “going down in flames”. “They really went for the low-hanging fruit, and it was always inevitable they would go after Donald J Trump, just because they can,” he said.
