An adult and a child who were in compulsory quarantine at Hilton Sydney test positive for coronavirus as the first group of people that were forced to isolate in hotels after travelling overseas celebrate their release.

An entire family who had been in forced quarantine at Sydney's Hilton hotel were last night taken to hospital, where two members tested positive for coronavirus.They had been overseas, and developed coronavirus symptomsParamedics were seen transporting three children from the family on stretchers outside the hotel at around 10:00pm yesterday.

The family was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in the inner west for testing and NSW's chief medical officer Kerry Chant said those who had returned negative results would remain in hotel quarantine. "Obviously everyone will remain in quarantine but we will be supporting that family in terms of their health needs and any other needs they may have," she said.
