Borce Ristevski will spend more time in jail after the Court of Appeal increased his sentence for the manslaughter of his wife Karen to 13 years.

His daughter Sarah, who has supported him throughout his court appearances, sat in the public gallery to hear the decision.

It comes after Brendan Kissane QC, acting for the Office of Public Prosecutions, argued the killer's "wheel of lies" about his wife's disappearance and refusal to say how he killed her warranted a harsher punishment. Prosecutors made the decision after a judge had ruled that his post-offence conduct could not be used as evidence against him.
