The territory has scrapped its seven-day home quarantine requirements for interstate travellers from high COVID areas .
But there is a strict testing regime put in place – people need to return a negative test 72 hours before they depart for the NT, another when they arrive and a third test on the sixth day after their arrival.
The reopening comes despite an increase in community cases of transmission – there are now more than 100 cases linked to the Katherine cluster.
