The former prime minister insists he is 'in favour' of recognising indigenous people in the Constitution but argued Anthony Albanese's Voice to Parliament was the 'wrong form of recognition' and has urged Australians to 'examine' the proposal.
Former prime minister Tony Abbott believes the Voice to Parliament will"divide Australians by race" and is the"wrong form of recognition" for indigenous people.

Offer ends 31 October, 2022 "I would be in principle in favour of recognising indigenous people in the Constitution but it's got to be the right form of recognition, not the wrong form of recognition and I think this Voice is very much the wrong form," he told Paul Murray Live on Tuesday."I think it would be bad in practice to have what Malcolm Turnbull called a third chamber of the Parliament in operation.
But Mr Abbott believes a ballot does not need to be held and has predicted it will"fail" once all the votes have been tallied.
